Pre-1970 Small Block Ford Compressor & Power Steering Driver-Side Bracket Kit

Upgrade your classic Ford small block with this Pre-1970 Small Block Ford Compressor and Power Steering Driver-Side Bracket Kit, designed to mount on the driver-side cylinder head of 221, 255, 260, 289, 302, and 351W engines. This bracket kit provides a clean mounting solution for your A/C compressor and power steering pump while supporting a variety of Ford and Saginaw-style power steering applications.

The bracket mounts to the listed engines, but may not align with all stock accessory configurations. Because timing covers, water pumps, crank pulleys, and water pump pulleys vary, always verify the required dimensions and your specific accessory combination before ordering.

Power Steering Pump Compatibility

The included power steering bracket is designed to fit 1964-1977 Ford and Saginaw-style power steering pumps and includes hardware for both pump configurations. Multiple hardware options are included to accommodate different power steering pumps and cylinder head configurations; not all supplied hardware will be used for every installation.

For Saginaw power steering pumps, a Dorman 300-122 or equivalent pulley is required. The pulley is not included with this kit.

The kit also includes hardware for installation on 351W engines and aftermarket cylinder heads with 7/16-inch threaded mounting holes.

Common Applications

Due to the wide variety of timing covers and pulley combinations available for small block Ford engines, final fitment is determined by the dimensional requirements rather than vehicle application alone. Common applications include, but are not limited to:

• 1965-1969 Ford passenger cars
• 1966-1977 Ford Broncos
• 1969-1975 Ford E-Series vans

Installation Requirements

Proper fitment requires the following accessory configuration:

• 1965-1969 standard water pump with passenger-side inlet and 5.4-inch hub height
• Verify water pump hub height, especially on 1969 models, due to mid-year changes
• 2+ groove crankshaft pulley and matching water pump pulley
• Example compatible pulleys include Vintage Air 730014 crankshaft pulley and 730016 water pump pulley
• Refer to the dimensional specifications for exact pulley and accessory requirements

This bracket kit may interfere with certain aftermarket or tall valve covers, so verify available clearance before installation.

Important Fitment Exceptions

• 1962-1963 Ford 221 and 260 engines equipped with generators require an alternator conversion, such as Vintage Air 131112, along with later-style pulleys that meet the required dimensions.
• Fitment has not been verified with the 289 Hi-Po water pump, which has a 5.1-inch hub height.
• Not compatible with Boss 302 or “Clevor” engines.
